How to Fake Beauty Sleep

We’ve all had those nights when we didn’t get enough sleep. The worst part is how it reflects on your face in the form of dark circles, eyebags, swelling, puffy face, dull skin etc. And sometimes, even when we’ve had the proper 8 hours of sleep, we still look exhausted. We are here to share some of the best tips and tricks to faking a full night of beauty sleep.

Get the ice globes!

This is an age-old trick that’s been used for centuries. It improves blood circulation to your skin and makes it bright. Applying ice globes to your face constricts the blood vessels, which initially lowers the blood flow to your skin. To balance that, your body starts circulating more blood to your face, which makes it lively and radiant. This will decrease swelling, as well as, leave your skin dewy, glowy, and supple.

Drain away the swelling and puffiness:

We talk about lymphatic drainage a lot and mainly because it is one of the best things that you can do for your skin. In a perfect world we would all eat perfectly healthy balanced diets, but it is super hard. Lymphatic massage is one of the few things that you can do that will help undo some of the damage done by a bad diet. Throughout our face and neck, you have pockets of lymph that store toxins and fat. Gently massaging them on a regular basis will help reduce that morning swelling/ puffiness and improve the overall texture and health of your skin.

Here are some of our favorite skincare tools that will help:

Hydrate:

When your skin is dehydrated it decreases the volume of blood flow to the skin giving the appearance of dull skin. There are several ways to combat this giving your skin the healthy morning glow that comes with a good nights rest.

  1. Outside of drinking water, there are a lot of great products that you can put on your skin before you go to bed that will help provide a beautiful morning glow. Including retinols (retinols = antiaging), hyaluronic acid (hyaluronic Acid = hydrating), and antioxidants (antioxidants= elimination of free radicles) into your regimen will help your skin remain youthful, healthy, and supple.
  2. A face mist should be a staple thing that everyone should carry around. Think about this - you drink water periodically throughout the day to stay hydrated but we often forget that our skin also gets thirsty. Including a mist will help keep your skin glow all day long. Another benefit to including a face mist, for my oily skin friends, is that it will keep your skin from producing excess oil because it is receiving the necessary moisture throughout the day.
